I love shooting bridal sessions. The only catch is I have to sit on them til the wedding day. Well, this was a little different since we did her session just a few days before the wedding. So.....since they got married at Heartwood Hall just a few days after these, I didn't have to wait forever to share these. 

 She told me about these doors and I was like "ok...sure" and then I saw them! Um...Yeah, these things are gorgeous.

 I was cracking up all day from her little "girl." She had a great dress for the wedding too!

Engagements at Annesdale Mansion

ANNESDALE MANSION!!!

There are a lot of amazing venues in Memphis. But there is something about playing somewhere new, haha. I got to play at Annesdale Mansion for the first time. Which is awesome b/c I have a few weddings there in 2015. I was excited before but now I'm REALLY excited after shooting an engagement there. 

 With a new venue, everything is new...but at the same time, my mind thinks, "what can I do that hasn't been done?" Well...here are some of my fav images from Lindy and Austin's engagements!  

 Above was the first image of the day. My favorite part was Valerie with Annesdale Mansion came down and started talking to me while I was shooting. I then told Lindy and Austin I got it..well, as you can see, this was shot in a mirror so Valerie had no idea I was shooting the couple. It was a great laugh, haha.

 Above and below were us playing in the attic. How many people ever get to shoot in an attic? haha

 I took a few shots of her above and wanted to incorporate him somehow, so...I used his silhouette...I think it came out really cool!

I wanted to feature this session on the blog for a few reasons. Not only is this an awesomely fun couple and not too shabby to look at. But we started the session and I just wasn't feeling the location. The images came out great but weren't epic. I want epic. I've always been a photographer that "shoots people in a location, not a location with people in it." But it wasn't feeling epic, so....we hopped in the car and went downtown. You can tell when the images come alive that all of us were feeling it. Both of them were laughing at me at one point just b/c I was having fun playing. We ended up having some beer at Brewery Untapped downtown. (It was the last night of it and had to go!) Love when I can sit with my peeps and just hang out! These 2 are a great example of booking the photographer that fits YOU. Not every wedding photographer is made for every client. When you all "click" (pun sorta intended" then that's when epic happens! Can't wait for their wedding weekend...
 

 Vinay and I honestly thought it was take some effort to get her back up there...we were wrong, she's catlike, haha.

 Had to throw this one in there, haha.
